The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. It may no longer be available for public viewing. The better version starts at Schneider Camp, which requires driving up a bumpy dirt round (vehicles with clearance recommended) from the Caples Maintenance Station for about a mile and a half until you reach a small parking lot with trails that go in two directions.
